SEXUAL OFFENDING

RISK ASSESSMENT

Determining the type and intensity of treatment is in part driven by how likely it is for someone to commit a sexual offense. Those that are more likely to commit a sexual offense are higher risk than someone who is less likely and will require more intense treatment intervention. Risk assessment makes it possible to determine someone’s level of risk to commit a sexual offense. It can be used as part of a more comprehensive psychosexual evaluation or used separately as a measure of change in treatment.
