PSYCHOLOGICAL AND
MEDICAL EVALUATIONS
A psychological evaluation can be a very useful tool in understanding how a person learns, how a person views the world, and how to best help a person make the changes they want to make in their life.
A physician will obtain a medical and sexual history in order to make a determination about whether the client could benefit from medication to better manage their sexual behavior. The primary benefit of taking a medication is that a client may reduce thoughts about sex and feel less compelled to act on sexual thoughts that have caused problems in the past. If medication is determined to be beneficial, the physician will review a detailed fact sheet and consent form before prescribing the medication or making a recommendation to the client's primary care provider for medication.
